Before stepping behind the camera, I spent over three years in law enforcement—long shifts, high stakes, and intense experiences. It was meaningful work, but the constant exposure to trauma left me searching for a new path. I needed something that allowed me to create, connect, and tell stories in a way that celebrated life’s best moments rather than its hardest ones. That’s when I took the leap and founded Watkins Photography.

Finding a New Mission

When I first picked up the camera, my focus was simple: capture real, authentic moments. But pretty quickly, I noticed something shifting. More and more people needed high-quality visuals—not just for personal milestones, but for their businesses, careers, and brands. It wasn’t just about pretty pictures anymore. It was about helping people be seen.

Networking with professionals, entrepreneurs, and local businesses opened my eyes to a common challenge: everyone wanted powerful content, but few had the time, resources, or confidence to make it happen.
